Our Professional Staff

 

Burlington Area Family Practice Center's medical staff includes thirteen board certified Family Practice physicians. Our Allied Health professional staff includes a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and two Iowa-licensed mental health professionals. Practice size is limited - to help maintain our committment to provide the highest quality of medical care. Dr. Michael AbouAssaly joined us in August, 1998 after resi­dency at West Suburban Hos­pital & Medical Center in Chicago. He is a native of Ce­dar Rapids, IA and a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

Dr. Tracy Bell joined us in June, 1994 after five years of private practice. She is a native of New London, IA and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin College of Medicine.

 

 

Dr. Thomas Boyd, a 1987 graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, joined our group in 1990 after completing his residency training in Springfield, IL.  

 

Dr. David Carlson received his medical degree from the Uni­versity of Iowa College of Medi­cine in 1987 and his residency training in Kansas City. Dr. Carlson joined our group in 1990.

 

 

   

Dr. William Daft joined us in September 1991, after com-pleting his residency in Cedar Rapids. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines.

 

 

Dr. Robert Hinnen joined our group in September 1992, after practicing for 5 years in Peoria, IL. He earned his medical de-gree from Autonomous Uni-versity of Guadalajara, Mexico in 1983 and completed his residency in Peoria, IL.

 

Dr. Amy Lindaman, a 2005 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, joined our group in 2008 following completion of her residency at the University of Iowa Family Practice Residency Program in Iowa City.

 

Dr. Gary Mansheim, a 1979 graduate from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. After a three year residency in Flint, MI, he established his own practice in Burlington.  Dr. Mansheim is a founding member of our group.

   

Dr. James McCabe is a 1976 graduate of the U of I College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Sioux City and practiced with a group in Storm Lake, Iowa before becoming a founder of our group in 1989.

 

Dr. Jeremy Murphy, is a 1999 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicinc. He joined our group in 2002 following completion of his residency at the Genesis Family Practice Residency Program in Davenport, IA.

 

 

Dr. Douglas Peters is 1997 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He joined our group in August 2000 following completion of his residency at the Genesis Family Practice Residency Program in Davenport, IA.

 

 

Dr. Aubrey Remmers, a 2002 graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Me-dicine, joined our group in 2005 following completion of her residency at the Genesis Family Practice Residency Program in Davenport, IA.

 

 
 

 

Dr. Vince Taeger, a 2001 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, joined our group in 2004 following completion of his residency at the University of Iowa Family Practice Residency Program in Iowa City. Dr. Taeger is a native of Danville.

 

 

Michael Baird, M.S., Clinical Psychologist, is a 1976 graduate of Western Illinois University.  He joined our professional staff in 1998. Mr. Baird brings over twenty years of clinical experience in indivdual and group therapy, psychological assessment, and community based mental health services.

Jennie Menke Fullenkamp, MS, ARNP is a 1999 graduate of the Family Practice Nurse Prac-titioner Program of Clarkson College, Omaha, NE. As a Family Practice Nurse Prac-titioner, she is trained and licensed to diagnose and treat family members of all ages.

 

 

 

Mel Davis Schiefer, MS, NCC, LMHC, LMSW is a 1990 graduate of Western Illinois University. She joined our professional staff in 1997. Ms. Schiefer offers individual, family, and group mental health counseling services, with a special interest in personal growth.
